Project overview
The ReciVeci® Foundation is carrying out a project that seeks to dignify the work of basic recyclers and recyclers in Quito, through the delivery of tools, the installation of community recycling stations and the promotion of citizen co-responsibility in the separation of waste.
As part of the project, alliances are being established with neighborhoods, local businesses and brands committed to sustainability, in order to consolidate a network of inclusive recycling points: ReciveCindad. This network facilitates access to recycling for more people, while ensuring that materials reach basic recyclers directly, strengthening their work and recognizing their essential role in the circular economy.
Currently, the project already has its first participating neighborhood: Miravalle, specifically in Plaza del Rancho, where a community recycling station has been installed. In the coming weeks, three additional stations will be added in the neighborhoods of Puembo, Monteserrín and Cumbayá, in partnership with the Ecoterra brand.
This approach makes it possible to improve the working conditions of basic waste pickers, while mobilizing citizens towards a fairer, more conscious and sustainable recycling culture.
