Project overview
ReciveCI®, through its specialized service ReciCorp®, is implementing a model for collecting recyclable waste in water and sanitation infrastructure projects led by Veolia In the city of Guayaquil. This initiative is being developed in the Cuba neighborhood, with the objective of ensuring environmentally responsible management of the waste generated during the execution of the works, while promoting the social and economic inclusion of basic recyclers and recyclers.
To date, they have already been carried out two days of collection, in which trained recyclers have recovered recyclable materials such as cardboard, plastics and metals, preventing them from ending up in the landfill and generating direct income for their activities. These collections have been coordinated with the Veolia construction team, ensuring an organized intervention aligned with the project's safety standards.
The experience in the Cuba neighborhood provides the basis for replicating this model in other areas of Veolia's intervention, demonstrating how collaboration between companies, social organizations and grassroots waste pickers can generate positive impacts on the environment, the economy and the community.
