Project overview

The Glass HUB Optimization Project by ReciVeci O-I CRIDESA, developed with the support of the IOM, aims to increase the operational efficiency of the collection center and improve the management of recyclable glass. Its primary focus is to increase the tons of glass managed and sold, while also strengthening the capacity of grassroots recyclers through training and improved working conditions by providing personal protective equipment. The project seeks to triple the HUB’s management capacity, which will reduce operational costs per ton.

The goal is to reach sales of 110 tons of glass by month 12 and to ensure the intake of 132 tons of recyclable material through purchases from suppliers and collections from generating points. Additionally, the project aims to promote social and economic inclusion by creating 2 direct jobs at the HUB and 150 indirect jobs through the purchase of glass from grassroots recyclers.

The project also includes a communication campaign aimed at the public and glass generators such as bars, restaurants, and cafes to encourage proper glass management. This campaign seeks to raise awareness among citizens and businesses, ultimately increasing the volume of recycled material and promoting sustainable practices in the community.
