Quito, June 2026. During the celebration of ReciVeci's tenth anniversary, held at the facilities of the Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ), ReciVeci officially signed a strategic inter-institutional cooperation agreement with this prestigious university. The agreement was signed by Paula Guerra, General Manager of ReciVeci, and Mauricio Cepeda, Administrative Vice President of USFQ.
This strategic alliance seeks to bridge the gap between academia and grassroots social innovation, creating a bridge so that triple-impact solutions and sustainability go beyond theory and become measurable actions.
What will be achieved through this agreement?
The agreement formalizes a roadmap focused on applied research and professional talent development:
- Pre-professional internship programs: Students from various departments will be able to get directly involved in ReciVeci's technical, strategic, and communication operations, gaining real-world experience in circular economy projects.
- Integrative capstone projects: Priority research areas will be opened for future professionals to develop their theses and degree projects by solving real-world challenges in the waste management and inclusive recycling sector.
- Applied research on campus: Data exchange and the development of joint studies will be promoted within the USFQ campus to design efficient environmental responsibility models.

During the signing event, Valeria Ochoa, representative of the USFQ Environmental Management Office, highlighted the profound value of this agreement:
"Education and research cannot remain confined to the classroom. They must reach out, engage with reality, and transform the environment. This agreement has a deeply human significance."
For ReciVeci, this milestone marks the beginning of a new decade of management where academic knowledge becomes a fundamental driver for scaling waste traceability, enhancing the use of technological tools like ReciApp, and continuing to dignify the work of grassroots recyclers in Ecuador.
