ReciVeci® was selected to be part of the acceleration program of the Miller Center for Global Impact, an initiative of the University of Santa Clara that accompanies social enterprises that work for social justice, climate resilience and the protection of the planet at a global level.
El Miller Center for Global Impact promotes solutions that address structural challenges such as poverty, inequality and the climate crisis, with a special focus on economic empowerment and the strengthening of business models with social and environmental impact. Through programs of acceleration, executive mentoring and access to international networks, the Miller Center accompanies organizations that seek to scale their impact without losing their purpose.
For ReciVeci®, being part of this program means strengthening the model of inclusive recycling that we have been building from Ecuador, improve our processes, refine our growth strategy and prepare to expand the reach of initiatives such as ReciVecindad, Recyclatones, ReciCorp and the Just Ton. This support will make it possible to continue consolidating a system that puts basic recyclers at the center, recognizes their work as an essential service and promotes fairer and more decent conditions within the recycling chain.
During the process, ReciVeci® will have specialized mentoring and strategic support. Among the mentors who will be part of this stage are Suzanne ElNaggar and Katie Povejsil, with extensive experience in leadership, management of organizational transitions, strategy and development of sustainable models for impact organizations.
Participation in the Miller Center also connects ReciVeci to a global network of social entrepreneurs, organizations and allies working for innovative solutions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This space for learning and collaboration will allow exchange experiences, share knowledge and strengthen capacities to face environmental challenges and social from a systemic perspective.
This milestone reaffirms that locally built solutions can dialogue with global agendas when they are sustained over time, are based on the reality of the territories and prioritize people. ReciVeci® takes on this new challenge with the commitment to continue working for inclusive recycling, with social, environmental and economic impact, and with the conviction that transforming the way we manage waste also transforms communities.
