ReciVeci participates in the webinar “Digital Technologies at the Service of a Just Transition” organized by Be Waste Wise
On September 10, Lorena Gallardo, Technology and Innovation Manager at ReciVeci, was invited to share experiences in the webinar “Digital Technologies at the Service of a Just Transition”, organized by Zoë Lenkiewicz, an international specialist in waste management and circular economy and part of the Be Waste Wise platform, an organization that works for the global dissemination of knowledge on waste management and management.
The main focus of the webinar was how digital applications, especially in the field of waste management, can improve access to collection services and reduce the burning or inappropriate disposal of waste.
At ReciVeci, we share the trajectory since 2016 with ReciApp, the first inclusive recycling app in the country, and how technologies can finally contribute to dignifying the work of basic waste pickers and recyclers, promoting their inclusion through obtaining data.
The webinar also included the participation of Allen Kimambo, from Zaidi Recyclers Ltd., a leading waste management company in Tanzania; creating a key space to share knowledge about how simple functions in these applications can generate a positive impact on inclusion and sustainability, transforming the lives of thousands of recyclers and improving waste management services in different communities around the world.
Thank you, Zoë Lenkiewicz for the invitation! You can watch the webinar at this link.
