DPWorld, a leading provider of intelligent logistics solutions, operates in 69 countries and has its subsidiary in Ecuador in the Port of Posorja. The headquarters, which has been in the country for less than three years, is already in the 10th ranking of seaports in South, Central and Caribbean America.
ReciVeci, an Ecuadorian startup that promotes the proper separation of solid waste in homes and businesses in Ecuador, signed an alliance with the multinational company.
For the initiative, this is the first agreement of its kind. Among the company's actions is the “Recycling is reeasy” campaign, through which recyclers are carried out in educational institutions and private and public companies in order to promote inclusive recycling and to make visible the work of grass-roots waste pickers, to build sustainable cities.
DP World, with its terminal in Ecuador, is committed to setting up a recycler and to including basic recyclers in the management chain of its solid waste, through ReciVeci collections. This recycling is done in the context of the 100+ Accelerator pilot, with the support of Cervecería Nacional and Coca Cola thanks to the management of Social Balance.
Because of its efficiency, the Guayaquil port of DP World in Posorja stands out in the second edition of Container Port Performance Index (CPPI), prepared by the World Bank and S&P Global Market. The company's terminal is the only one in Ecuador in this ranking, which includes 370 terminals around the world.
