ReciVeci was one of the organizations invited to the annual meeting of the IDB's Water and Sanitation Division (INE/WSA), which was held last week in Monterrey, Mexico. As part of the agenda, the 15 years of the BID-FEMSA Award, integrating the special participation of ambassadors from previous editions as spokespersons for the award, with the aim of inspiring new initiatives to apply. On behalf of ReciveCI, Lorena Gallardo, Co-Founder and Manager of Innovation and Technology, participated as an official ambassador for the award in the Solid Waste Category, sharing ReciVeci's experience in media, panels and dialogues with impact initiatives from all over Latin America.
The agenda also included networking and collaboration spaces with organizations such as the Monterrey Water and Drainage Services Company, the Mexico City Water Fund (Agua Capital), FEMSA and CEWAS, encouraging the exchange of experiences and exploring opportunities for collaboration to strengthen the innovation ecosystem in the region. Several activities were carried out at Tecsound, an innovation space at Tecnológico de Monterrey, and the meeting was organized by the IDB with the support of Tekuoia, the coordinating entity of the BID-FEMSA Award.

ReciVeci was also part of the special episode of the podcast “Unreasonable”, hosted by Raúl de Anda, Co-Founder of Unreasonable Mexico. This space, focused on stories of entrepreneurs who are “changing the rules of the game”, wanted to make visible how organizations such as ReciveCI, Stattus 4 (Brazil, Water category) and Binario Tech (Chile, Sanitation category), are transforming their sectors through innovative solutions with real impact on their communities.
During the event, the achievements of these organizations were celebrated, which went from having an idea to consolidating themselves as companies with sustainable and impactful business models. Marília Lara, CEO of Stattus4, presented her work with IoT artificial intelligence to detect water leaks and digitize sanitation systems. Patrick Aravena Peralta, Co-Founder of Binario Tech, showed off his modular technology for reusing chemical-free wastewater. For her part, Lorena Gallardo, co-founder of ReciVeci, shared how ReciApp connects grassroots waste pickers with citizens, generating key data for public policies on inclusive recycling.
In 2020, during the pandemic, ReciVeci won the BID-FEMSA Award in 2020 in the Solid Waste category, which marked an important point in consolidating its business model, improving ReciApp and strengthening alliances with institutional support. Five years after that achievement, it continues to grow as part of a regional network committed to sustainability and innovation.
Today, together with other ambassador organizations, ReciveCI demonstrates that technology, When used for purpose, can truly be at the service of life and communities, generating real and sustainable solutions in water, sanitation and solid waste.
