CAF experienced a Recyclaton together with ReciVeci® and basic recyclers

03/2026

On Wednesday, January 14, ReciVeci® carried out a Recyclatón together with CAF, the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean. The day brought together employees of the bank to reflect on the destination of the waste we generate and who is behind its recovery.

Recycling is one of the services that ReciVeci® offers to companies and organizations. Through this process, teams receive initial training where they learn what to recycle, what not and why good separation matters. Then, for several weeks, they separate their waste at home and, finally, take it to the office to deliver it directly to basic recyclers and recyclers.

This time, the collection was in charge of Mercedes, a basic recycler and partner of ReciVeci® for several years. Mercedes recycles in the República Avenue sector in El Salvador and has been recycling for more than 30 years touring the streets of the city. It is very likely that many people have ever seen it, although few have stopped to think about their work.

During the training, Mercedes shared her experience. In three decades of work, he has seen waste increase, but separation habits hardly change. That's why receiving clean and separated materials makes a real difference. Not only does it make your work easier, but it improves your conditions and income for your family.

El Recyclatón at CAF it was also a space for collective learning. The ReciVeci® and Mercedes team guided the day, answered questions and talked about the role that each person plays in making recycling work. In addition, trivia and dynamics were held with prizes to recognize those who best separated their waste and actively participated.

At the end of the day, CAF employees left with the idea of continuing to separate their waste and delivering it directly to basic recyclers and recyclers, either in the recycling stations or using the ReciApp®.

For ReciVeci®, Recyclatones are a way to bring people closer to inclusive recycling. It's not just about retrieving materials, but about generating encounters, Start conversations and recognize the work of those who have been there all the time, even if we haven't noticed them many times.
